Continuing Education Contact Hours

Earn 2.0 DONA International continuing education contact hours, applicable toward recertification, for attendance at this workshop.


Workshop Objectives:

  • Describe theories explaining the physiological mechanisms of pain relief with TENS

  • Discuss research findings on pain relief, safety, and satisfaction with TENS during      labor

  • Demonstrate the proper application of TENS

  • List the parts of a TENS unit

  • Describe the physical sensations caused by TENS

  • Discuss precautions and reasons for these precautions with the use of TENS

  • Discuss a step-by-step protocol for the implementation of TENS by the doula

  • Describe the requirements for DONA International approval to use TENS


Investment:

  • $140 for 2.0 contact hours PLUS a TENS unit and three electrode packs

  • Registration is limited to a small group class

  • TENS units are limited, so register early!

Cancellation Policy:

A $5 materials fee will be retained for a cancellation or substitution the day of the workshop, but a registration can be transferred to a substitute up to one day in advance without penalty.
